it's my birthday, i'll buy dior if i want to

It's my 20th birthday -- and also, the blogs 5th anniversary! It's strange that this blog has not actually changed my life, but actually gave my life direction? I don't know what person I'd be without fashion, and I wouldn't have fashion and the family I have within it if I didn't blog. It's given me so much, and I am so incredibly grateful. It gives me drive, it gives me family. I feel at home in it and discussing it and worshiping it and dreaming about it. I don't have an outfit post or anything for you today because I'm out and I don't have a tripod (or any photographer friends who can help me take photos without me spending ten minutes instructing them how to use a DSLR) but I do want to share some of my favorite things at the moment. I'll probably #treatmyself and pick one to get for my birthday, I haven't decided what.

Snaps from my Los Angeles adventures so far. Disneyland (and dead birds) with my darling friend Lolita.

And my favorite happy music video on youtube. I'm going to bed now -- full day later on in Santa Monica, perhaps I'll see you around. To another year in blogging. Let's see where it'll bring us both.

Just some things I've been appreciating this week. I would do a full outfit post but I have mostly been in the bathtub being sad all weekend so putting shoes on and painting my nails is as far as I've gotten to getting dressed. I can't wait for summer. I will probably regret wanting summer when I'm sweating my ovaries off pounding pavement in New York but it's ok. Then I can be excited for fall dressing!

Shoes: Gift from Wanted, Bag: Gift from Modcloth. The shoes came in like less than 24 hours, mad impressed. I've never owned yellow shoes before and I'm not usually a fan of this kind of shoe but it felt right to me.

I haven't read zines -- or purchased them -- in awhile, let alone made any, so I think I'll probably reread my favorites this week. I just started journalling again the other night in my sleep in a last ditch effort to be okay and it was really cathartic. You don't realize how much you miss something sometimes until you start doing it again I guess.

Some playlists I've been digging lately, which are definitely suited for today. Take a listen and I'll see you in hell???????? Hahahahahahaaaaaa.

proof i am a weeaboo

I am such a goddamn otaku, I pretty much cried when I saw G-Dragon in this spread. Ugh I am such a nerd for Big Bang, when I heard them on one of my local cafe's soundtracks I was that obnoxious girl that hums along and dances with strangers.

ANNDDD to solidify my complete loser-status in the eyes of all the non-weeaboos that read this blog, here is my favorite MV of Big Bang for you all. If you mute at the chorus, it is totez tolerable and awesome. If you listen to the whole thing, the awesome cliche yet weird dance inducing rhythmn of it is worth it!

If you're grounded during the summer and hang out with only asian girls who enjoy Final Fantasy THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS. BEWARE!

p.s i am not a tone-deaf korean fanatic all the time. only 98%. don't judge, you know you probably listen to Britney Spears unironically....
