my hair isn't indigo yet. also, i have turned goth (break out the screamo)

i scheduled my hair appointment so it's a few days before fashion week, so that way the first picture you'll probably see of it will be at the tents! I'm excited. Anyway.

LOOK, ARABELLE HAS TURNED INTO A FASHION ZOMBIE IN ALL BLACK A LA KRISTIN! (I give her so much crap but she knows I love her.) I literally wear this jacket with everything. It is my baby. My one and only. My love. My girlfriend. My own personal wanna be Yohji. (Chanel Yohji collection, holler~)

When I saw it the first time in Goodwill I literally screamed: "YOHJIIIII AHH~" and everyone in the store thought I was crazy. But they usually think that anyway since I buy the strangest things they have.

Anyway, this is the most black I've ever worn, really. My black is slowly taking over my closet.. it's kind of weird. I own officially 8 items of black, which is more than I've ever had in my life. I'm trying to just collect more black and leather because they're the most challenging to layer and drape for me. I'm fearless with patterns, but black scares me because it can be so dull. So it's a new challenge! This isn't my favorite outfit by far when it comes to my "blackdom", but oh well, I'm learning.

I'll show you a better outfit soon (hahaha right) that shows off the jacket; really this picture was on accident.

Also this is my school staircase. Say hi to High School. And my Zune. I was listening to Sorry Sorry and singing along. BADLY.

happy big three, blog, and happy seventeen to me!

Dang, I'm seventeen today! And the blog is three. That is so strange to me... I've been reading blogs/blogging myself as long as I've been in high school! I've gone through a bunch of friendships, some with more meaning than others, gone through so many artistic phases, and yet I still find it exciting to put together a new post (though taking outfit photos will always be the bane of my existence because my parents are still unsupportive of me blogging.... whatever.).

To be honest I didn't think it'd even last this long, ha. But I'm glad it did. Thank you for reading and waiting patiently for me to post even though I don't post nearly as often as I want to. In a perfect world I would post elaborate photoshoots of my outfits and have interviews with drugged up grandmothers (easily my greatest inspiration at the moment) and maybe I'll be able to once I go to college / move out of my parents house. Here's to hoping for a great year for FP and for you and me alike.

Things I've been doing besides blogging... zining. LOL OLD FASHION BLOGGING. I'm forever an art nerd I guess. This is my usual setup on my bed... I surround myself with books, bad music (DBSK and Dylan in the same playlist. Can you dig it, man?), good pens and my journal and post-its so I can take notes and dissect everything I read.

My blogging process has changed without me really feelin' it... I journal, then I edit my journal entries into posts (like the street style one a few posts down). I'll eventually get around to scanning you guys a few of the inspiration boards I've been making I think...

But mostly I've been into zining. Here are a few in the making. After I'm done sending out a few to my friends as New Years Presents / whatever I think I'll make a monthly zine or something that you guys can buy for like $2. If you guys would dig that.

The one on the right is one I'm most excited about.. if you wanna contribute to it just scan me over a letter you haven't sent out (like, you wrote it, but you never had the guts to send it to the person) and background on why you never sent it out and I'll put yours in there and send you the zine for free.

P.S I am dyeing my hair indigo soon! BE PREPARED FOR THE AWESOME.

P.P.S Here is the link to all the asian street style blogs I peruse. They are in a huge list because there was NO WAY I was going to show picture examples of the style they shoot.. so just click randomly I guess? Hopefully you like them as much as I do!

Shoes Shoes Shoes and random things from last year

Been pondering what shoes to buy for fashion week or which ones to fix and figured a photo dump would be just fine for my musings. I went to Jeffrey's with Kristin the other day for a day of filming for French TV (Hi French people, please send me scans of the Elle article I was in? I never got one.) and spent most of the time making fun of her Balenciaga addiction -- yeah I'm one to talk right -- and fondling the Nina Ricci's and Proenzas on sale. If I had $420 to drop I would run back there and snap up the Nina Ricci fetish shoes so fast you don't even unnnastannnndddd.

Anyway. Back to shoes I like.

The two pairs above are by Andreia Chaves, and they are definitely making the rounds around the blogs, but here they are in case you haven't seen them. KINDA GORGEOUS AM I RIGHT OR AM I RIGHT?

Here's a quote on her influences, which are not surprising but obviously totally awesome:

With influences such as Maison Martin Margiela, Rei Kawakubo, Yohji Yamamoto and Issey Miyake., it’s clear that Chaves appreciates designers who provoke – and shatter - common perceptions that people hold. Chaves is currently focusing on her final collection – an exploration about the moving body - which is to be presented in February 2010.

Totally dope.

SEE I HAVE THE BAG:

I KNOW RIGHT OMG

....

no. Just kidding. I was walking to the mail box today with some letters and zines I was sending to people and I saw -- blasphemies of all blasphemies, sins of all sins -- a comme bag on the side of the road. I mean what! Ran over and torn. So obviously I picked it up and brought it home (after checking if the actual clothes were anywhere to be found as well.. >___>)

I was listening to this at the time and now considering the MV is all about a stalker fangirl being a stalker... it felt like an oddly appropriate soundtrack.

But you know whats crazy, I mean besides me picking up a peice of trash just cause it's the trash derived from Rei Kawakubo's label? The fact SOMEONE IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD HAS COMME AND I DON'T. Someone who passed by my house. I'm going to find you and rape your closet, whoever you are. Be afraid.
