idol of eternity: mary, full of grace

Mm, so you see the sidebar to the right, full of <3 ? Mary was the first person I put up on it. She is my idol at everything, is pretty much everything I'm not, but is everything I aspire to be... once I settle down and get sedated and stop running about with my head practically cut off.

I am going to convert you to Maryhood. You MUST watch this post, read this post when you're feeling frumpy (or just whenever), read this post to learn things, and absorb this post on secondhand shopping.

She is beautiful and grounded and talented and she makes me believe in good people.

Last day of camp, I walked out of the graduation ceremony. I feel like I've been let out of jail. Now I'm watching Garbo movies and her shiny, shiny pants are entrancing me. She was one of the first actresses to wear pants... and having sequined, shiny leggings and a swedish accent = Fashion / Life Icon. She was also possibly lesbian (lesbian superqueen Mercedes de Acosta was her friend to turn into stalker) but then Marlene Dietrich was bisexual, and I guess their sexuality at their time made them all the more ~glamorous.

And there is your Classic Movie class of the day! Give me chocolate for my kindness.

Mmmmm, there's a tea party I'm co-planning for my best friend. In the City... any recommendations? I like theatrics, she dislikes trendiness. Anything in between with good scones and good for a small group (4...?) would be lovely.

P.S I did not realize I matched my kitchen / was doing a Garbo impression until I looked at the pictures. Sweet.

Ms. Fashion Blanket! I miss your blog. Tell me when you're free for a shopping spree my friend. Multi blogger meet up sound fun?

oh but you're just as big as little africa! bahahahaha

I hate my internet connection! Sorry for the long wait, and no outfit pictures this time around! Studying is killing me....anyway.

I've said it before, I'll say it again... The Science of Sleep is one of my favorite movies ever (Gael Garcia <3).

With a sister like Lou and a mother like Jane Birkin it's only natural to have an amazing personal aesthetic, methinks.

This is my favorite editorial with her for November Elle, so easy to wear. Another one for Vogue Paris, styled by Carine herself.

Moving on to me, because I'm more important! The other day I went to my friends house and we um, studied and did scholarly things.

Sorry I forgot to give you back your bangle, Minion.

Also, before we settled down to study we went on our weekly shopping trip and I got new-old black vintage grandma boots and a new ring. I'm eyeing an all lace tiered dress over there because it's completely impractical (you'd need a full slip) and magnificent, and there was a vintage Balmain dress for $6 but I didn't have enough money!

So, pictures tomorrow if I can manage. Finals start on Monday, and my brain is liquid. I'll be back soon, but wish me luck! Im still reading your blogs from my sidekick (also this is a post from my sidekick) so sorry if I'm not commenting.
