I got an email the other day from the designer Scott Park dropping a note on his new collection and how it might interest me. Well, he was right, his collection is pretty amazing and right on point with how I'm feeling right now. Also, HE has purple air which obviously means we are pretty much spiritually twins.

Anyway, his collection is pretty excellent.  Witch dreamy vibes with a dash of royal luxury and off kilter-witchery. Just the thing I'm into right now. Have a look, it's totally worth it.

we are helpless and poor and gluttons and happy

So yesterday I hung out with my bff Scott Park. Yes, that Scott Park! He moved to New York recently -- probably the day after NYFW ended I think, and we've been inseparable ever since. Yesterday we had all of these huge plans, but none of it panned out and we ended up eating at this horrible hole-in-the-wall dumpling place with the worst service ever and a screaming baby and me freaking out over holes because I have trypophobia (if thats how you spell it, idk. Google shows me a bunch of triggering images whenever I want to look up the history of my phobia so it's obviously not very helpful.). We did go ice skating though, that was fun.



On the way to Walk for Choice / Rally for Planned Parenthood -- which we were hideously late for, because I had a blood test and had to sit in a waiting room for three hours because the American Healthcare system is fucking horrible and I would prefer to live in Canada bc they have an awesome system -- we ended up in like the most deserted part of New York City. It was freakishly empty. There were no cars or people and it was like, deathly quiet. I was honestly terrified we had walked into the Twilight Zone or something. I have never seen the city SO DESERTED.



So of course we took the opportunity to take pictures. I haven't had time to touch up my hair at all for the past two months so  forgive heinous hair situation. It's weird though because I get more compliments on my hair with horrible roots and streaking than I do when I freshly dye my hair. I think it's people being nice.

I would post pictures of Scott but he prefers to be faceless for his brand because he wants to be like Margiela. So, boo.



Anyway I have to finish my paper on Freudian dream theory and rewatch the Big Bang Show (GDRAGON 4EVZ) now. Bye.

people are staring at us but that just means we're doing something right

One of my dearest friends (who I met on the internet! All my favorite people are the people I have met through the internet. SURPRISE.) is leaving me tomorrow to study at Central Saint Martins, kinda heartbroken so we decided to commemorate our friendship of the summer with lots of narcissism. You don't recognize him, but I've blogged about him before, he's Scott Park. You can read a short interview I did with him  when we first met here.  He's probably one of the only people I let borrow clothes from my closet. FYI, None of the clothes in this post are new to the blog, you can see both the blazer he borrowed from me and the dress I'm wearing in this post from March. I'm bet you're sick of the blazer but I DON'T CARE I LOVE IT. ♥_♥

I'm kind of bummed with the way this dress fits now, I think I lost ten or maybe even fifteen pounds since last year without really trying and the way this (my favorite dress!) fits is very different than it did only a few months ago. It used to fit perfectly, but whatever, it's still cute. It's one of those dresses that you wish you had a thousand of.

   

Scott is such a talented designer and I've seen sneak peeks of his new collection / future collection and I'm SO OBSESSED. I really believe he'll be a success and I do hope you'll watch out for him in the future 'cause I think with enough luck he'll make it big. I certainly think he has enough talent.

I'm really going to miss my bff. Q___Q We shared many memories over spicy ramen and the smog of his cigarettes. And we bonded over Britney Spears and Big Bang, which makes him very close to my heart. Guhhh teary eyed guhhh

I MISS YOU ALREADY, OPPA.



By the time you see this post, he'll be flying and I'll be unreachable at the lake for vacation. I hope you're having a great summer so far and I love you!!! Internet hugs and kisses. 

things i am obsessed with: odani motohiko

I’ve discovered Odani’s work accidentally I can’t remember where or when but ever since I did I’m continuously intrigued by his aesthetic and use of material. I was fortunate enough to see his work and also Chiharu Shiota’s installation at the “Bye Bye Kitty!!!” exhibition during my stay in NYC. Odani’s work resembles organic biomorphic forms, and possibly the idea of transformation. His visual presentation seems to be in a state of purity almost as if scientific in nature. I’m obsessed with how
his pieces evoke a feeling of being uncomfortable but to the point in which after a few moments of inspection, you forget you’re in a bare sterile white room, and in some ways sense something so natural.

The idea of Mending, Renovation, and Transformation are all that I’m interested in at the moment. And in some instances I had a personal connection to how poetic in substance Odani’s and a few other artists are now impacting me and my own work, especially since I tend to incorporate a similar notion of psychosis. I believe to question reason, sense, and experience can alter someone’s comprehensive thinking. But perhaps if this is what the future may look like, it’s a good sign.
