A Cyborg in Their Final Form

photo 1

Music to suit the situation. Lipstick to Void, of course.

I feel like I talk about this dress all the damn time but never got around to a proper outfit photo, so here you have it, just in time for fashion week. This is maybe my favorite dress in my wardrobe.
I was scared of it at first, but the sales associates at the archive sale were very adamant about how excellent this looked on me and I'm glad I bought it, even though buying it did give me a minor breakdown at the cash register and it took three people to help me get it on the first time I tried. (This is a normal thing when it comes to CDG.....I think it's fun.). It's an archival piece, for sure, and plan to keep it forever and ever and ever until I die and am reborn all over again. Some pieces you just grow into. This dress is where I'm at right now. It's everything I could want in a garment -- a bit clinical and strange, scientific and ethereal all at once. I've taken it with me on my my travels and have worn it on my most precious occasions, from my first Art Opening (pictures here) to my first trip to London (remember?). I'm going to be traveling a lot this winter, so it'll see Tokyo with me, too. My good luck dress going on a pilgrimage back to CDG HQ. Home.

I'm wearing: Prada Glasses (sunglasses version here), Junya Watanabe Comme des Garcons Parachute Dress, Margiela Tabi Boots.

Beauty notes: Clinique Anti-Redness PrimerDr. Jart+ BB Cream with Make Up For Ever Concealer Palette and MAC Finishing Powder, for an absolutely poreless finish. The key here is the primer and concealer one-two punch. A totally color corrected face -- applied with a Real Techniques brush, with BB cream buffed in with the Optical Blurring Brush from Urban Decay -- makes the skin look decidedly unreal. Since it is hot and you are, unfortunately and invariably, human, patting down periodically with MAC Finishing Powder gets you back to robot. Makeup does last longer with Urban Decay Setting Spray though, so I use that, too, and my makeup doesn't budge. Here's the order in which I use everything, so you can visualize it:

I am very fond of uber-perfect skin, as I explained in my last youtube video (subscribe!) and this is just one of the ways I get it. Lots of you have asked me over on Tumblr how to get it, so I"ll probably do a tutorial on that at one point. I did write out the routine here, but a video tutorial is in the works, just have to find the time. Until then -- maybe read my Morning After with Adult Mag and I'll see you soon!
